Tony Knowles: Dead Wrong Again. Period.

In Desperate Attempt to Criticize Something, Knowles Falsely Attacks Alaska Congressional Delegation, Supports Keeping Dollars Oversees and Flip-Flops on Job Creation

Anchorage, AK - In a blatant effort to deflect legislative victories by the Alaska Congressional Delegation, Tony Knowles attacked Senator Lisa Murkowski and a popular provision in the FSC/ETI Conference Report (H.R. 4520) that would allow U.S. corporations to bring money earned overseas back into the U.S. at a reduced rate.

In his most recent FALSE attack, Knowles neglects to mention that the FSC/ETI bill also contains tax incentives needed to speed the construction of an Alaska natural gas pipeline. "In his desperate attempt to criticize Senator Murkowski, Tony Knowles has actually blasted a bill that encourages domestic spending and forces companies to create jobs in the U.S." spokesperson Elliott Bundy said. "Is Tony Knowles such a partisan politician that he can't celebrate the passage of the gas line?"

"There have been so many Knowles campaign promises already broken that it is not surprising Knowles is now against domestic job creation. It seems that the former Governor would rather critique the good work of others than help encourage economic growth here in Alaska and in the United States," Bundy continued. "This legislation will help create jobs in Alaska and throughout the country through the very tax mechanisms Tony once said he supports."

Knowles' comments today prove one of two things: either Knowles didn't read or doesn't understand the FSC/ETI legislation.
