Fairbanks DMV Gets New Office Manager
Fairbanks, AK - Duane Bannock, director of the Division of Motor Vehicles for the State of Alaska, named Joanne Olsen as Office Manager of the Fairbanks DMV office.
"Olsen brings a quality background and depth of experience for this critical position," said Director Bannock.
Bannock noted that the Fairbanks office handles over 100,000 transactions annually. In her new position, Olsen will supervise 19 Motor Vehicle Customer Service Representatives which includes the Delta Junction DMV office.
Olsen started working with the Division of Motor Vehicles as a seasonal employee in 1984. She is a Certified Drivers Examiner and has been administering skills tests since the late 1980's.
"I really do like the busy work at DMV and I especially enjoy the customers and the daily challenges of the unique situations I encounter at work," said Olsen.
She is married to Wayne Olsen and they have four children. In her time away from the office, Olsen balances her life by teaching Sunday school, participates in volunteer efforts and is an instructor and performer of Polynesian dance. This summer she was a guest artist at the Fairbanks Summer Arts Festival.
